Elon Musk’s X has added a new job search feature that will make it easier for users to find suitable jobs.
Elon Musk’s X takes another step to compete with LinkedIn, adds new job search feature
X, formerly known as Twitter, has unveiled a new feature on its platform: a job search feature. This new functionality enables users to explore job opportunities directly within the microblogging platform, stepping within the scope of Microsoft’s established job search and networking platforms like LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, and others. The move is in line with Elon Musk’s broader vision of turning X into a ubiquitous app for users.
The job search feature on X is seamlessly integrated into the platform through filters. Users can now use these filters to navigate through job vacancies posted by various organizations. These filters facilitate specifying criteria like roles, experience level and more.
These new job filters were first introduced by web developer Nima Owji. His post not only highlighted the recent changes, but also gained attention when it was re-shared by Elon Musk himself. “X continues to enhance search filters for job seekers! Users will also have the option to select seniority level and search for positions at specific companies,” Ouji’s post said.

X recently revealed that nearly 1 million companies have already listed job opportunities on the platform. This diverse range of listings spans a variety of industries including AI, financial services, and SaaS.
The move puts X in direct competition with LinkedIn, a major player in the job search and networking sector. Similar to LinkedIn, X’s new feature empowers users to search for job opportunities directly on the platform. However, the reception of this new job search feature on X remains to be seen.
It’s worth noting that while the job search feature is a recent addition, it has been available on the platform for a few months, albeit only on the web interface.
In addition to the job search feature, X has recently introduced other enhancements, including the ability to post longer content and access audio and video calling features, which were previously reserved for premium users.
